This delicate swan pin has a pearlized resin body and brushed gold metal wings. It measures approximately 1" by 1.25" (2.5 cm x 3.2 cm) and is marked AVON and a copyright symbol on the back. It closes with a locking c-clasp and is in excellent condition.

Avon began as the California Perfume Company in 1886. It was founded in New York City by David H. McConnell. The first products with the Avon name were made in 1928. In September 1939, the company name was changed to Avon Products. Representatives sold the Avon products door-to-door, using “Avon calling!” as their slogan. The first designer jewelry collection was produced in 1971. Kenneth Jay Lane and Elizabeth Taylor were just two of Avon’s many designers.
