condition & sizingCONDITION We inspect our garments as carefully as possible and classify the condition of each garment into one of the following categories. Any flaws will be noted in the garment description. Although we may inadvertently miss a tiny flaw, we will make every effort to address any and all condition issues. All garments are laundered or dry-cleaned and repaired, when necessary, before being sold. It is our goal to provide you with beautiful vintage clothing. The majority of our garments are in excellent or very good condition. But, regardless of the rating, a vintage garment is not new. Please refer to the condition categories below to see how we arrive at our rating. CONDITION RATING CATEGORIES NOS – New Old Stock – Perfect garments that have never been worn. The original tags are still attached to the garment. EXCELLENT – A well cared for garment with no sign or very little sign of wear and no visible flaws. VERY GOOD – A garment with subtle signs of wear or small imperfections that do not take away from the garment’s appearance or wearability. Any flaws will be noted in the garment's description. GOOD – A garment that has noticeable signs of wear or flaws but can still be worn. FAIR – An “as is” garment with obvious wear or flaws that may still have value as a costume, as a pattern, for restoration, or for use in the study of historical styles and design elements. SIZING Determining your “vintage size” is not an easy thing to do! Vintage measurements are significantly different from modern day sizing. We want you to be sure that you’ll love the way your garment fits! So, if there is an original size tag, we will list it. We will also list the actual garment measurements where applicable. Our vintage clothing measurements are taken while the garment is lying flat and relaxed. These measurements do not include the ease (extra room) you may need to provide a comfortable fit. Your measurements should be smaller than ours to allow for ease of movement. Please follow the back and front measurement guide provided. Compare your own measurements to ours, remembering to leave some extra wiggle room, especially for coats and jackets. If you’re still not sure of a great fit, find a similar garment in your closet and measure it. Compare these measurements to those of the vintage garment. Please contact us. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
